In Loving Memory of Kate

Kate
It is with the greatest sadness in our hearts that we are letting you know that our wonderful volunteer, Kate Veale passed away at home on Sunday 16th November.
We will remember Kate with love for her sunny smile, positivity, friendship and passion to help and encourage those sea swimmers attending the sea swims.
Kate was a very talented and top Masters swimmer, competing at World Championship level and a lifelong member of Totnes Swimming Club where she trained and volunteered as a Swimming Teacher and Coach.
We will all miss Kate and send our deepest condolences to her husband, Simon and two sons, Kalon and Levin.
She will always hold a special place in our hearts because of the special person she was.

Rest in peace Kate 🌈

β€œIt is with such sadness that I am not going to have those wonderful chats and laughs together on the beach, chatty catch ups about your incredibly talented hubby and boys and their latest achievements. I shall miss your sunny smile, and how you would always make us feel we could swim like we were champions. But, most of all, our Aspire to Sea Swim family will never be quite the same without you. β€œI loved Kate’s company and her energy and it was so sad to hear of her passing. A lovely soul and I know Clive had a soft spot for her too. I remember fondly of one last swim of one of our Waves that we had last year. The 2 of us were accompanying 2 swimmers in the water on their longest swim of 500m or more. Kate was so calm and with beaming smiles to everyone and giving incredible support to our swim participants. She was a natural in the water and a wealth of expertise to pass on. It was a joy to watch her swim too. Clive and I love you Kate. We will miss you always. Jerrie and Clive xxx”

β€œI was so deeply sorry to hear about Kate. I used to train with her many years ago when I was 15 years old at Tiverton Swimming Club, we were on a similar journey at the start by competing in the Devons, Western Counties and then eventually the Nationals. I will always remember her lovely smile and her compassion. she looked always looked effortless when swimming. She will remain in our hearts forever. Sending our love and thoughts at this deeply sad and difficult time to all her family." Emma xxx”
